14 February 2020 - Through the combined efforts of Note Printing Australia employees, Reserve Bank of Australia, CCL Secure, and the NPA Corporation, a total of $10,000 has been raised for the Bushfire Disaster Appeal, which is being managed by Bendigo Bank in partnership with The Salvation Army. 100% of donated funds go directly to communities in need.
“Appeal funds will go immediately to families who need it the most – families who have lost loved ones and families who have lost their homes,” said Victorian Minister for Emergency Service, Lisa Neville, last week. “The Victorian Government is covering the administrative costs for the delivery of these grants, ensuring that every single dollar that is donated goes directly to the people and communities affected by the bushfires.”
Through ‘Big Breakfast’ initiatives, cash donations, and a First Aid kit raffle, the total funds raised by NPA’s employees came to $2392.50. In generously agreeing to match this donation, the RBA and CCL Secure have boosted the total figure to $7,177.50.
To cap off this fundraising effort, NPA Corporate will contribute $2,822.50 in order to bring the total contribution of the group to $10,000.
“We all know that what these fire-ravaged communities went through could easily happen to any one of our local communities that are in rural and semi-rural environments. It makes me proud to know that we have a workforce that cares enough to band together around this cause and raise funds for those who today are trying to rebuild from the ashes,” says Malcolm.
“Thanks again to RBA and CCL Secure for their generosity – I know they have their own internal fundraising efforts in place so to jump in and support NPA as well is very much appreciated.”
Gutted: With recent heavy rainfalls extinguishing the bushfires, there remains a massive clean-up and recovery effort ahead.
