Four representatives of the Department of Justice and the Immigration & Passports Services Department from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) enjoyed three days on-site participating in a series of meetings and also seeing their passport visa pages being printed first hand. The experience was something of a revelation for the quartet, who included Robert Nakasone (Acting Secretary, Department of Justice), Eugene Marquez (Acting Chief, Immigration & Passport Services), Iolani Irons (National Passport Officer), and Mirah Waguk-John (Assistant Passport Officer).
NPA prints a small quantity of passports for FSM, however it is a valuable relationship for NPA that demonstrates our organisation’s ability and commitment to service export passport customers. This was the first time in Melbourne for all four individuals, and they were made to feel extremely welcome and learned a lot of new information about the expertise and production process supporting the FSM passport.
Their stay also included a Staff Insights Session, a fascinating presentation to our management groups and supporting departments connected to the FSM Passports account. Details of the nation of FSM, its geography, culture, geo-political position, economic aspirations, travel challenges and more were discussed.
Eye Opening: The team from FSM were delighted to learn of numerous aspects of NPA's Passport Operations and technical expertise, here with (L-R) Joanne Papalia, Andrew Atwell, Iolani Irons, Eugene Marquez, Mirah Waguk-John, Robert Nakasone Jr and Nuwan Kalpage.
