NPA was privileged to have RBA Governor Michele Bullock participate in a Women in Leadership event which was held on 22 November 2024. Women in Leadership (WIL) is an initiative that was introduced earlier this year by the newly appointed CFO Bronwyn Di Carlo who established this community of practice for NPA’s female leadership cohort soon after her arrival.
WIL events have covered many leadership topics across the course of the year leading up to Governor Bullock’s visit. During the session, the 15 NPA women in attendance heard directly from the Governor about her leadership journey and some of the challenges that she faced along the road to her high-profile role. She generously shared key learnings and leadership advice.
The RBA was also represented by a number of other senior leaders including Assistant Governor Business Services Michelle McPhee, Deputy Head of Note Issue Lynne Cockerell, and National Banknote Site Manager Rechelle Pritchard.
“The WIL group were enthralled with Michele’s reflections of her youth, education, family, and career at the RBA. Michele is such as authentic individual which has such impact when sharing her wisdom with the group,” says Bronwyn, who hosted the event. “Her insights into being open to opportunities when they present, being an authentic leader, being self-reflective, and being open to ongoing learning resonated strongly with the group. It was extremely inspirational.”
The Governor answered many questions during the Q&A session and the WIL group were exceptionally grateful for her time and the advice she shared to guide them on their future leadership journeys
